Short-stem prostheses have become increasingly popular in recent years. The implantation of a short-stem prosthesis aims to preserve the bone and create favorable conditions for revision without changing the basic concepts of conventional hip arthroplasty.
Short-stem prostheses were developed decades ago to ensure a bone- and soft-tissue-sparing implantation approach; in recent years, numerous innovations and modifications have come onto the market.
The concept of modern calcar-guided short-stem prostheses in hip arthroplasty aims at the precise reconstruction of the individual, anatomical hip geometry. A bone and soft tissue-sparing implantation technique is used in conjunction with a physiological load in the part of the femur near the joint in order to preserve the bone in the long term.
The short and round shafts are ideal for the minimally invasive ALMIS ACCESS, and damage to the muscles is not necessary. Unlike conventional straight shafts, implantation is successful using the "round the corner" technique.

A MAJOR DIFFERENCE TO CONVENTIONAL HIP ARTHROPOSTHETICS IS THE POSSIBILITY OF INDIVIDUAL IMPLANTATION OF A CALCAR-GUIDED SHORT-STEM PROSTHESIS.
YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THIS WELL IN THIS VIDEO.
SINCE THE IMPLANTATION PHILOSOPHY DIFFERS FROM CONVENTIONAL HIP ARTHROPOSTROCHROME, YOU SHOULD CONSULT A SHORT STEM EXPERT.
