When replacing the prosthesis, re-operation can often be performed with a primary hip implant. Sometimes special revision implants are also necessary.

COMMON REASONS for replacing a knee prosthesis are, in addition to infection, instability or persistent pain.

DURING A RE-OPERATION OF THE KNEE, special implants are often necessary to replace defective ligaments (using a so-called coupled prosthesis) or to RECONSTRUCT DEFECTS IN THE BONE (using augments or bone replacement MATERIAL).
